Oorutaichi

Musician, Artist, Meditator

Hailing from Osaka, Japan, Oorutaichi started his music career in 1999 with a cassette album, a collection of multi-tracked improvisations, titled “?.” Influenced by The Residents, The Doors, and dancehall reggae, he developed his distinct style of singing in his own language on programmed tracks. His past releases include “Yori Yoyo (2003),” “Drifting my folklore (2007),” “MISEN Gymnastics (2007, Bearfunk).” He often collaborates with contemporary dancers and his album jackets are his illustrations. After the 2011 Great Tohoku Earthquake, he started to practice Vipassana Meditation.
