Cinematographer
Ryo Murakami was a cinematographer based in New York City. He traveled the world capturing awe-inspiring images of people and events with his unique sensibility. Ryo was involved in numerous productions of narrative films, documentaries, and music videos, including Blank City, Bill W., Alicia Keys’ “Girl On Fire” and Wu-Tang Clan’s “Our Dreams.” Ryo passed away on June 29th, 2013, from an infection caused by a strain of Malaria he contracted while shooting in Liberia. Ryo was survived by his wife Maki, and his children Miyabi, Takeru and a third one on the way.
