Director, Artist, and Author
Hailing from Japan, Momoko Ando studied at The Slade School of Fine Art in London and New York University before starting her career in the movie industry. As a daughter of director-actor Eiji Okuda and essayist Kazu Ando, she worked on several films as an assistant director and a writer before making her directorial debut with Kakera: A Piece of Our Life in 2009.
She is also known for her drawings and has published a collection of short stories as well as full-length novel 0.5mm, which is to be adapted into a film. (photo: Nico Perez)
